Astronomical Society of Greenbelt -- formerly -- The Greenbelt Astronomy Club meets at 7:30 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month (except when it falls on a holiday) at the H.B. Owens Science Center on Greenbelt Road east of Greenbelt, Maryland of the Prince George's County Public Schools that includes a Challenger Learning Center, a planetarium, and a nature trail.

On open house evenings a guest speaker will give approximately a half hour talk about a topic in astronomy. The talk is followed by viewing of celestial objects through the observatory's telescopes, weather permitting. If weather does not permit viewing, the talk will still go on as scheduled.

Northern Virginia Astronomy Club is located in Virginia, near Washington D.C. It's primary purpose is providing enjoyment and education to the public (and ourselves!) through amateur astronomy. It strives to be a friendly club with a focus on observing, and it is one of the largest clubs in the United States with over 550 members. General membership meetings are open to the public, and are held at Lecture Hall #1 on the Fairfax campus of George Mason University on the second Sunday of every month. Meetings start at 7:00 PM, but if you come earlier you can do a little socializing.
